Volunteers of Mayo Clinic Health System – Northland were recognized by the organization at an appreciation brunch at Rolling Oaks in Barron last week.
In honor of their star-studded volunteer achievements, Mayo Clinic Health System – Northland treated volunteers to red carpet treatment with the theme “Volunteers Make a Reel Difference” and a cinema motif. The event featured photos on the red carpet and entertainment by the Barron High School Chamber Choir, directed by Julia Loiselle. The group celebrated a cumulative 10,220 hours of service by 177 volunteers in 2012. The Independent Sector, a consortium of charities, foundations and corporate giving programs, places the value of volunteer services at $21.79 an hour, which puts the Mayo Clinic Health System – Northland volunteers’ contributions at more than $222,690.
