Forrest H. Luer, 97, Ridgeland, Wis., died Friday, Dec. 1, 2017, at Pioneer Health and Rehabilitation, Prairie Farm.

He was born Jan. 9, 1920, to Harry and Mary (Knutson) Luer on the family farm in the Town of Wilson, rural Ridgeland, where he was raised and attended school.

On April 3, 1948, he married Donna Hartung at Sand Creek. The couple operated their own farm in the Town of Wilson for several years until retiring in 1982.

After retirement, Forrest enjoyed golfing and worked at Pine Crest Golf Course, Dallas, mowing grass for a time.

He was an avid Brewers and Packers fan, and also enjoyed watching his many grandkids play ball. He also enjoyed reading and working crossword puzzles.

Surviving are a son Allan (Corrinne) of Prairie Farm; daughters Rochelle (Nathan) Keilholtz of Ridgeland and Ann (Raymond) Harmon of Ridgeland; 11 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; as well as many other relatives and friends.

Forrest was preceded in death by his parents; his wife on Jan. 30, 2013; a daughter Cheryl Luer; a grandson Mike Luer; and a great-granddaughter Vanessa Mittelstadt.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 9, from New Hope Lutheran Church-Pine Creek, Town of Wilson, rural Ridgeland, with Rev. Janelle Harrison officiating and interment following at the church cemetery.

Visitation will be held an hour prior to services at the church.

Rausch-Lundeen Funeral Homes, Dallas and Cameron, are handling arrangements.
