James “Jesse” R. Malone, 83, Barron, Wis., passed away Wednesday, Nov. 15, 2017, at Monroe Manor, Barron.

James was born Nov. 14, 1934, at Poskin to Roy and Florence Malone. James was raised on a farm in Poskin. He went to school in Poskin until the eighth grade.

James married Beverly Koster on March 20, 1958, at Pine City, Minn. They had two children, Lee James Malone and Tracy Ann Hebert.

James served in the Army during the Korean War. He worked on the Jennie-O Turkey Store farms and had a sheep farm.

James loved to be outside, cutting the grass and baling hay with his son, grandkids and great-grandkids.

Surviving are a daughter Tracy (Jeff) Hebert of Barron; a daughter-in-law Julie Malone of Barron; grandchildren Jenny (Steve) Amos and Melissa (Todd Lund) Malone; great-grandchildren Dominique, Jordan, Jasmyn, Austin, Dezteney, Steven Amos and Aaron Cress; a brother Jerry “Blue” of Barron; sisters Mary (Dick) Rasmussen of Circle Pines, Minn., and Lois Place of Chippewa Falls; as well as nieces and nephews, brother and sisters-in-law.

James was preceded in death by his parents, wife, a son Lee, three brothers and five sisters.

Services were held at 7:30 p.m. Monday, Nov. 20, from Rausch and Steel Funeral Chapel, Barron, with Rev. Ron Mathews officiating.

Visitation was held 5-7:30 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
