CN Rail wants Norwegian Road closed in Stubbs

Posted: Wednesday, September 25, 2013 9:45 am

The Stubbs Town Board has received an offer from the Canadian National Railroad to close Norwegian Road.  It calls for a one-time incentive payment to the town in the amount of $142,500.

Canadian Sand and Proppants, which is developing a frac sand drying and rail shipping facility in nearby Weyerhaeuser  would pay the town $135,000 and CN would pay $7,500. The payment would be in exchange for the town’s voluntary permanent closing and vacating the right-of-way at the Norwegian Road  crossing.
