Five communities in the News-Shield circulation area will host ceremonies honoring U.S. military veterans on Monday, Nov. 11, 2019, on Veterans Day.

The public is welcome and encouraged to attend each of the ceremonies.

Ceremonies, dates and times, are as follows:

Barron — According to spokesman Dave Martinson, members of the Brown-Selvig American Legion Post, VFW Post 8338, and local AMVETS will combine to host three ceremonies at 8:20 a.m. at Riverview Middle School, 9:15 a.m. at Woodland Elementary School, and 10 a.m. at Barron High School, all on the morning of Nov. 11.

The group will then move on to the Barron County Justice Center, where another ceremony is planned at 11 a.m.

Almena — VFW Post 8512 members will visit Almena Elementary School at 10:30 a.m. Monday for the traditional Veterans Day ceremony.

Ridgeland — Members of Willard Hinzman American Legion Post will come to Ridgeland-Dallas Elementary School at 2 p.m. Monday, Nov. 11, to officiate at the community’s annual Veterans Day observance.

Cameron — Pieper-Marsh American Legion Post members will host a pair of Veterans Day ceremonies in Cameron on Nov. 11, the first at 8:45 a.m. at the Cameron Elementary School gym, the second at 9:45 a.m. at the high school gym.

Prairie Farm — Holum Waite American Legion Post members will host a public Veterans Day ceremony at 9:30 a.m. Nov. 11 at the Prairie Farm School “large gymnasium.”
