Wendell P. Frisinger, 56, of Barron, Wis., passed away Saturday, Aug. 4, 2018.
Wendell was born March 8, 1962, to Donald and Sandra (Wavada) Frisinger of Barron. He grew up with his sister Mary on their family farm with Donald and stepmother Pat (Crotteau) Frisinger. He attended Barron High School and was an exceptional athlete who broke the school pole vault record his freshman year. He graduated in 1980.
Wendell found his passion for driving truck while working for his father’s business. He spent his career as a truck driver. He worked for many companies over the years, most of which were over-the-road. He was able to travel the country and had a great sense of direction as if he had an internal atlas. He prided himself on how his truck looked. Countless hours were spent painting tires or polishing the tank. He would drive his truck downtown to “show it off” or to see its reflection in the store windows.
Wendell had a fun-loving personality and had a playful spirit. He loved to joke around, pull pranks, tell stories and make people laugh. He was a child at heart and brought a smile to everyone he encountered. In his free time, he enjoyed shining deer, fishing and hunting with his friends. There was never a shortage of laughs.
Wendell married Teresa (Adler) in 1986 and together they had two daughters, Megan and Morgan. They divorced in 1993. On March 10, 2006, Wendell married the love of his life, Valerie (Olson-Chucka). Their marriage extended his family with her three children Corey, Shane and Lacey Chucka. Not long after, he became a grandpa.
Wendell is survived by his wife, Valerie: sister, Mary (Kurt) VanRoy; brother, Bernie (Paula) Rominski; daughters, Megan and Morgan Frisinger; stepsons, Corey (Mary), Shane (Tracie) Chucka; stepdaughter, Lacey (Matt) Findley; 13 grandchildren; Silas, Jasper, Marley, Todd, Joe, Sarah, Brock, Avery, Deziray, Skylar, Delilah, Lilyana, Damen; one great-grandchild, Layla; Nieces Alexandra VanRoy and Hannah Rominski; and nephew Matthew Rominski.
Wendell was preceded in death by his mother, Sandra Peterson, parents and stepmother.
