Barron County Habitat for Humanity will host a dedication ceremony celebrating the completion of Cindy and Clarissa Slayton’s home at 5 p.m. Tuesday, Nov 13, 2018, at 1700 Margaret Ave., on the east side of the city.
The ceremony will celebrate the hard work and dedication of the homeowners, volunteers, sub-contractors, and community support that enabled the project to succeed.
Ground was broken for the home on June 25, 2018.
Cindy Slayton, now of Cameron, and her 18-year-old granddaughter, Clarissa, were joined by a group of about 30 volunteers from Mount Zion Lutheran Church, Hudson, who helped put in the floor and outside framing for the home.
The completed home stands on the east side of the city near the intersection of Division Avenue and 16th Street (behind Swant-Graber Motors and the Cenex Travel Plaza).
City officials said the home will comply with federal rules under the Americans with Disabilities Act, to accommodate Clarissa’s needs. She attends Barron Area Schools.
