Nature’s magic
- Updated

Water vapor at freezing temperatures condensed on tree branches coming into Barron on Poor Farm Road to frame ordinary blacktop in millions of ice crystals that slowly disappeared as the sun moved higher into the sky Tuesday morning above Barron. The condition, a somewhat rare occurrence, has appeared virtually every morning in the area for the past week. This day, the roads were also blanketed in fog, while sun dogs danced behind rainbows on both sides of the sun. Unfortunately, sun dogs glow and then pulse into retreat mere minutes later, which was the case Tuesday when this photographer rushed to find an expanse of open sky to capture the happening.
