Construction proceeds in downtown Dallas

Heavy equipment dug old pavement off County Hwy. U in Dallas on Monday, Aug. 3, 2020, as work began on a large-scale, $330,000 repaving project in the village. According to Mark Servi, county highway commissioner, Antczak Construction is the prime contractor, with about half a dozen workers on the construction site, and 15 trucks hauling excavated material and gravel to and from the site. The project is funded with a 90 percent state grant, with the county and village financing six percent and four percent, respectively. Work should be complete by early September, depending on the availability of paving crews, Servi added. Photo by Bob Zientara
