Barron County will close two county-owned shooting ranges in the towns of Arland and Maple Plain beginning at sundown on Thursday Nov. 21, 2019, in anticipation of the upcoming Wisconsin Gun Deer season.
The ranges will reopen Thursday, Dec. 12, after the close of the muzzle loading gun-deer season. According to the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources, the muzzle loading season closes Wednesday, Dec. 11, 2019. The following Monday is Dec. 16.
The announcement was made Monday, Nov. 18, 2019, by Jeff French, county administrator
The county has closed its shooting ranges during the deer seasons for the past 12 years, French added.
