A problem that’s getting worse

 Although its population is less than 50,000, Barron County has more children eligible for the court appointed special advocate program than more heavily-populated counties in the region, such as Eau Claire and St. Croix, and almost as many as Chippewa, according to this map from the Wisconsin Court Appointed Special Advocates Association.
