New staff at Cameron Schools

Several new staff members joined the Cameron school district earlier this month as the 2018-2019 school year begins.

Staff members were asked by the News-Shield to provide information about their professional and personal backgrounds.

Anna Roherty, Grade 6 teacher

Hometown, high school -- Born and raised in Cameron, graduate of Cameron High School, Class of 2009.

Education University of Wisconsin-Platteville, with a degree in elementary education, and an emphasis on early adolescence, Class of 2014

Last job before coming to this district -- Taught Grade 5 for the Shell Lake School District.

Why did you choose to work here? -- I have always wanted to work in the town that gave me so much growing up. I love the small community and the support everyone gives each other.

Personal (spouse, children, hobbies, pastimes) -- I am married to my husband Charlie Roherty and we have a spunky one year old boy named Rowen. In my spare time I love to be active outdoors, being out on our boat, spending time with family, and baking.

Kimberly Donica, Middle School special education teacher

Hometown, high school -- Born and raised in Almena, graduate of Cumberland High School.

Education – University of Wisconsin-Superior, degree in elementary education with a minor in social studies, Class of 2005. Master’s in special education, UW-Superior, Class of 2017.

Last job before coming to this district -- Special education teacher at Osceola Middle School

Why did you choose to work here? -- I love working with kids and want to be close to home.

Chelsea Pacholke, Age 4 Kindergarten “wrap around” teacher.

Hometown, high school – Born in Rice Lake, raised in Cameron, graduate of Cameron High School.

Education – Currently attending Wisconsin Indianhead Technical College, majoring in early childhood education. Will graduate in spring of 2019.

Last job before coming to this district -- I was a nanny for a family and working at Home Sweet Home.

Why did you choose to work here? – I chose Cameron Elementary School because I have always had a passion for helping children learn and grow. Over the past two years, I have had the privilege to volunteer in the Pre-K classrooms, and got to experience just how amazing the teachers are.

Personal (spouse, children, hobbies, pastimes) – Engaged to be married to Andrew Widiker, on Sept. 15, 2018. We have a Saint Bernard named Stella, and a Golden Doodle named Sterling. I enjoy camping, boating snowmobiling, and hanging out with friends and family. I also enjoy going for a run with Stella and Sterling!

Rachelle Brown, Middle School special needs and Comet Club (after school program) aide.

Hometown, high school -- Raised in Minong, Wis., and a graduate of Minong High School.

Education – University of Minnesota-Duluth, degree in accounting and business administration.

Last job before coming to this district -- Manager of Rice Lake Bus Service.

Why did you choose to work here? – I enjoy working with children.

Personal (spouse, children, hobbies, pastimes) – Mother of two, including a daughter, Kristin, age 26, and a son, Kyle, age 21. I have a granddaughter, Adley, age 2. I enjoy going to the lake and kayaking.

Amber Siewert, Comet Club (after school program) Coordinator and Director

Hometown, high school -- Born and raised in the Rice Lake area, graduate of Rice Lake High School.

Education – University of Wisconsin-Stout, degree in human development and family studies, class of 2008.

Last job before coming to this district -- Family Resource Provider at the Rice Lake Head Start center.

Why did you choose to work here? -- I saw an amazing opportunity in the position, the program is going to be beneficial for the Cameron School District

Personal (spouse, children, hobbies, pastimes) – Married to husband Dana Siewert, mother of two, Amelia, 4, and Ethan, 2. We enjoy archery, camping, kayaking, fishing and exploring.

Katelyn Czekalski, high school special education and Comet Club student aide.

Hometown, high school – Born in Weyerhaeuser, raised in both Cameron and Weyerhaeuser. Graduate of Cameron High School, Class of 2011.

Education – Crown College, degree in Christian Ministry, 2016; master’s degree (in Christian Studies) in 2017.

Last job before coming to this district -- I worked at, and still work at, Menards.

Why did you choose to work here? -- I saw that there was an opening for this, and decided I could be of benefit. I wanted an opportunity to give back to my school and help students, working “in the trenches” with them.

Personal (spouse, children, hobbies, pastimes) -- My hobbies include spending an unhealthy amount of time watching hockey during the NHL season (but seriously), and galavanting around the world.

Annette Crotteau, special education aide.

Hometown, high school – Born and raised in the Rice Lake/Cameron area, graduate of Cameron High School.

Education – Wisconsin Indianhead Technical College, Rice Lake, two-year degree in clerk-typist program.

Last job before coming to this district – Worked from home before startng at Cameron.

Why did you choose to work here? – Because I love working with kids. It’s wonderful to work in the school district and community that has done so much for us.

Personal (spouse, children, hobbies, pastimes) – Two adult sons, Jacob and Jordan. My favorite hobbies include gardening, refinishing furniture and pampering my dog, Aussie.
