Thomas P. Blechinger, 51, Comstock, Wis., died Sunday, May 14, 2017, at Dove Health Care, Eau Claire, after a series of health complications.
He was born Dec. 20, 1965, at Cumberland to Joseph and Jean (Shepler) Blechinger. He graduated from Turtle Lake High School in 1984.
Tom went to work in the Twin Cities, laying sewer and water pipe.
He married Shelli Miller in August of 1987, and they had Kayla.
Tom was a big part of the operation for several large farms around Almena.
He was remarried in September of 1995 to Jennifer Gillette and that union produced Brooke and Brady. They moved to Cumberland, where he farmed and raised children.
In his free time, Tom enjoyed working on and pulling tractors, ice fishing (with his kids), hunting, gardening, tinkering and most recently raising his chickens.
He will be deeply missed by his children Kayla (Kyle) Tornio of Hudson, Brooke Blechinger of Almena and Brady Blechinger of Comstock; grandchildren Zach and Evelyn Tornio; his parents Joe and Jean; siblings Ray (Libby Simons) Blechinger of Turtle Lake, Netti Dodge of Grand Forks, N.D., and Tammy Ross (Jared Becker) of Almena; as well as nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and other relatives.
Services will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday, May 18, from Skinner Funeral Home, Turtle Lake, with Father Tom Thompson officiating.
Visitation will be held 4-7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred.
