James Wayne Emerson Sr.

James W. Emerson Sr., 66, Eau Claire, Wis., died unexpectedly Friday, April 29, 2022, at his home.

He was born Aug. 12, 1955, at Shawano, the son of Dr. Franklin G. Emerson and Mary (Yaws) Emerson.

James was a kind and gentle soul who faced life's challenges with a smile. Even though he battled medical issues and disability for many years, James never lost his courage or positive attitude. He was an amazing father and grandfather, and loved spending time fishing and camping out under the stars.

James was a craftsman, through and through. He started his welding career as a young man and then passed that trade onto his son, James. He enjoyed sewing in his spare time and would often create all sorts of things for many different purposes. His creations were always meticulously crafted and had a certain level of artistry to them.

Anyone who knew James, knew he was a loving father.

Surviving are a son James (Savanah); a brother Thomas; grandchildren Donavin, Ashlynne, and Asher Emerson, and Audrey Oemig; as well as a niece and nephew.

In addition to his parents, James was preceded in death by a son Jonathan, and a brother Theodore “Ted."

An interment service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, May 6, at Wayside Cemetery, Barron.
