Missing Winter man

Sawyer County Deputies responded and learned Norbert “Tony” Anthony Dantzman, 89, had gone missing at about 9 a.m., Friday, Aug. 30, from the Winter Northern Lights Motel in the village of Winter.

The Sawyer County Sheriff’s Office is continuing to investigate a missing person case involving California resident Norbert Anthony “Tony” Dantzman.

Dantzman, 89, was last seen leaving the Winter Northern Lights Motel in Winter on Friday, Aug. 30, at about 9 a.m., wearing a light colored checkered shirt, black vest, black pants, black shoes and a light colored cap. He is 5’9” tall, 136 pounds with brown eyes, grey hair, and glasses.

Dantzman suffers from dementia and other cognitive issues.  

The Wisconsin Department of Justice Silver Alert says the alert has been expanded due to the possibility that Dantzman may be hitchhiking.

Sawyer County Sheriff’s Office, Sawyer County Search and Rescue along with additional search resources are continuing efforts in an attempt to locate Dantzman. At this time, efforts to locate or make contact with Dantzman have not been successful.
