According to several media reports Tuesday evening, Aug. 6, the Barron County Sheriff’s Department confirmed that the rural Barron house where James and Denise Closs were murdered, and Jamye Closs was abducted from, has been destroyed.

The property is still bank-owned, and bank officials informed family members of the plan to tear the structure down, according to reports.

Jake Patterson, who held Jayme Closs captive for 88 days before her escape, and pleaded guilty to kidnapping Jayme and the murders of both of her parents, is serving life in a New Mexico prison.
