- Updated

A number of emergency responders were needed Tuesday, Feb. 9, to free the driver from a vehicle that crashed on 16th Avenue north of Almena. The driver, Teresa Cimfl, was extricated and loaded into a Mayo Ambulance at the scene with non-life threatening injuries. A Lifelink helicopter also responded to the scene. A passenger in the vehicle, Mark Fagnan, was uninjured. The vehicle, a Chevy SUV, was westbound on 16th Avenue, about 1 mile west of 8th Street, when it lost control, left the roadway and overturned. The road at the time of the crashed was covered in firmly packed snow. Almena firefighters and Barron County sheriff’s deputies also responded to the scene.
