A bench warrant is out in Wisconsin and adjacent states for a Prairie Farm contractor who failed to show up for a Wednesday, Oct. 17, 2018, hearing in Barron County Circuit Court.

Defendant Phillip C. Nelson, 50, was scheduled for a hearing into charges that he cashed a check for $5,768, in order to buy parts to repair a boiler heating unit at a local dairy farm. But, according to a complaint filed June 28, the defendant never did the repair work and, later, allegedly admitted to investigators that he had spent the money.

The defendant’s most recent court appearance was last Aug. 8. He was to be arraigned Oct. 10, but the hearing was postponed to Oct. 17, court records said.
