The report of a “confused” woman in a parking lot near Prairie Farm School on Wednesday, Jan. 18, 2023, has resulted in two felony methamphetamine-related charges, according to Barron County Circuit Court records.
A complaint filed Jan. 19 identifies the defendant as Sky V. Stuebs, 24, of West Salem, Wis.
She was taken into custody after Barron County dispatchers received a report of a woman in the north parking lot of Lukjan Metal Products, 780 River Ave. S., Prairie Farm. A caller told dispatchers that the woman “seemed confused and said somebody had dropped her off.”
Two deputies went to the location and found a woman wearing a black coat and holding a basket that held clothing and personal belongings, including a purse. After determining her identity, the deputies learned there was an outstanding probation warrant for her arrest. She was taken into custody.
One of the deputies said he told the defendant that her possessions would be searched at the jail but offered her the chance to let him know if she had anything illegal in her possession. She allegedly told him about something that was in her purse.
In the purse, the deputy found a bag of what later tests proved to be meth laced with fentanyl, as well as a glass smoking pipe.
The location of the incident was later determined to be within 850 feet of Prairie Farm School.
The complaint charges the defendant with two felonies, including possession of a controlled substance and possession of narcotics, both within 1,000 feet of a school.
